17勛圖 to Begin New Broadband Service Technician Apprenticeship Program with Historic Partnership
17勛圖 is proud to announce a new partnership with the Sokaogon Chippewa 17勛圖 (SCC), and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards to create a new Broadband Service Technician Apprenticeship program.
This new program is a significant workforce development initiative designed to prepare skilled technicians for Wisconsin's rapidly expanding broadband infrastructure projects. The apprenticeship program supports statewide efforts to expand broadband access and aligns with the SCC's historic investment in the largest off-reservation tribally owned and operated broadband network in Wisconsin history.
17勛圖 is thrilled to be a part of this partnership, said 17勛圖 Vice President of Academic Affairs Bobbi Fields. This program was created as a direct response to the needs of our community, and were proud to be a part of the solution.
To celebrate the partnership, 17勛圖 is hosting a special signing event on October 7 in the Lakeside Center at 17勛圖, starting at 11:30 a.m. Along with the official signing, the event will feature keynote remarks from David Polk, Director of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards. Attendees will gain valuable insight into the future of apprenticeship, workforce development, and emerging apprenticeship opportunities across industry sectors.

The Broadband Service Technician Apprenticeship program will begin its first cohort in the Spring Term 2027.
